NTR, was an Telugu film actor, producer, director, editor and politician who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years. He was the first non Congress Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
He founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982.

N T Rama Rao Was born on 28 May 1923, Nimakakuru, Madras Presidency. He was chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for three times between 1983 and 1995. Earlier to join politics, Ram Rao was a famous Telugu film actor. In the 1950, he worked in the films related to the life of Hindu Gods like Krishna and Ram and audience became the fan of him. He was adopted by his uncle in childhood. In 1942, he married to his uncle daughter. They had eight sons and four daughters. His wife Basava Tarakam died in 1985. In 1993 at the age of seventy, Rama Rao remarried with the Telugu author ‘Lakshmi Parvati’, but N.T.R. family never accepted Lakshmi.
He worked in more than 250 Telugu films, which is why he is considered one of the best known actors in the history of Telugu films. Apart from Telugu, he also worked in Tamil and Hindi language films. Given his contribution to Indian cinema, the Indian government honored him with Padma Shri in 1968.

Nt Rama Rao started his film career with the role of Police Inspector in the Telugu film, Mana Desam (1949). After this he based on an English drama Pizarro and B. a. Acting in Subbarao’s directed film “Pletturi Pupa”. This film has made tremendous success and Ram Rao became a popular actor. In his first mythological film Maya Bazar, he played the character of Hindu God Krishna. This movie was also successful, after which N.T. Rama Rao mostly films based on Hindu Goddesses and mythology. He played the characters of Lord Rama, Krishna, Bhishma, Arjun, Karna, Duryodhana, Vishnu, Shiva etc. He played the character of Krishna in 17 films the main ones are ‘Sri Krishnajhuna Yudhm’, ‘Karnaan’ and ‘Danvir Sur Karna and more..

He entered politics in 1982 by establishing a Telugu Desam Party. The main reason for entry into politics was the release of Andhra Pradesh from Congress rule and independence from Congress. At the time of starting a political life, N.T. Rama Rao was a successful and popular actor of Telugu cinema. N.T. Rama Rao became the tenth chief minister of Andhra Pradesh with ten cabinet ministers and five state ministers. Between 1983 and 1994, he became the chief minister of the state three times. 1994: becomes Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the third time.

Nandmuri Taraka Rama Rao died on January 18, 1996. It was death by natural causes, a heart attack in the early hours of the morning.
