Dhanteras 2021

Dhanteras is also known as Dhanatrayodashi marks the beginning of five days festivities of Diwali. It is the most important part of the Diwali celebrations. This Festival is observed on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksh in the Hindu month of Kartik.

This year, In 2021, This Festival will be observed on 5th November.

Meaning:

This Festival is associated with the worship of Goddess Lakshmi. The term Dhan refers to wealth or money and Teras means thirteenth. It is observed just before the two days of Diwali.

Significance:

This festival is celebrated with great Enthusiasm, Joy, Happiness, and Zeal. This day people bought and bring new things and this is considered a very auspicious event at the Dhanteras.

This Festival brings a lot of Peace, Prosperity, Happiness, Wealth, Wisdom. It brings good destiny for all the people.

Rituals performed on Dhanteras:

People on this day worship Goddess Lakshmi and this puja is known as ‘Lakshmi Puja’. People pray, worship, and sing devotional songs to honor Maa Lakshmi.

They light up tiny diyas and different kinds of lights in their house. Diyas are kept burning in front of Goddess Lakshmi for the whole night in the honor of Maa Lakshmi. Different types of sweets are cooked and offered to Goddess Lakshmi.
